The Rosemount Irish Boys Swim Team Book

I took on this project because going through sports when I was in school was difficult. There where always a popularity contest going on. By the end of the year the ones who stood out the most or where most popular got to be spotlighted in book they created at the end of the season, or in the year book.

As a photographer with graphic design experience, I took this challenge on. When first creating the book, I made sure that everyone was presented and acknoledged. Before starting the project I made a list of what image I wanted to be presented for each swimmer/diver.

I went to every meet they put on and made sure to target the images I needed with each swimmer. From their perfect dive to their best stroke to them all having an image of a side veiw of their caps. The Swimmers and the Divers had a bit different photoshoot.

Designing the book was an easy task. All of my designing and creating in Adobe Photoshop.

When I got all my images in and I made sure everyone got a resembling photo that they would be proud of. I opened it up to each one of their families to send in photos of them in relation to the swim team. Although some parents didn't send in photos, I had been thankfully taking candid photos of all of them for their page.

This project was a great learning experince. In the end the whole book I designed and created was made into a printed book and given to all of the families.

At the end of their season we went to their ceremony where they where awarded all of their awards and where given a end of the year party. When the books where handed out; the joy on everyones faces where all worth it. Not just the parents but their boys too where glued to it and remebering all the good times they had.
