About Baker's Dozen

Baker’s Dozen was started in 1985 by the Dozen family. Bob and Jane Dozen moved to St. Paul in thelate 1970’s. After neighbors continually complimented them on their homemade donuts, cakes, andpastries, they decided to open their bakery in early 1985.

Over the years they have grown to become a favorite stop for residents of the neighborhood andgreater St. Paul. In the mid 1990’s their children began to work at the bakery, making it a true familybusiness. Bob and Jane retired in 2005, and their children Sam and Diane currently run the bakery.

Baker’s Dozen prides itself on old-fashion baking. Everything is made from scratch and they source asmany ingredients as they can locally. Their bakers go through a rigorous apprenticeship to ensure thatevery delicious cake and pastry coming from Baker’s Dozen is of the highest quality and has thatpersonal touch.
